Fun Rock n Roll Dance Video

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a video on my blog so I thought it was about time I added one!  As it’s getting towards the end of the academic year and things are (hopefully) winding down, the video I’m posting today will be a great idea for a fun and celebratory end-of-term session!

Rock n Roll encompasses a range of different dances including…Jive, partner work and lifts, hand jive, promenade and the Electric Slide.

The following video features my version of the Electric Slide, which is a unison phrase (everyone performing the same thing at the same time).  After the dance is performed facing the front, it’s turned by 90 degrees to face the wall to the right, where the dance is repeated.  This turn is completed twice more until the dancers face the front of the space again.  It’s a bit like line dancing, for those of you who may have dabbled!

Music?  I use ‘I Love to Boogie’ by T-Rex – it’s got a good pace and the children will love it.

Please let me know how you get on and enjoy using this with your classes.
